The current rFactor 2 in game rolling start procedure did not give position one (P1) the advantage to control the start of the race and position two (P2) could pass P1 before the start line without penalty.

So, after a lot of discussion, on track debate with fellow drivers and the admin team, we have decided to add a new rule to our server rules.

The following rule will only come into affect at the beginning of each new championship or single race event from now on.


Rolling start procedure

All drivers will follow the safety car in single/double file and maintain their position as directed by the game. Once the safety car enters the pit lane, the driver in the first position (P1) assumes the role as the safety car and controls the formation lap. P1 must maintain a consistent speed similar to that of the previous safety car pace and has the responsibility to commence the race at any moment after the green flag is shown. Although P1 may have the authority to accelerate rapidly out of the last turn, they are not permitted to exceed the maximum speed limit and subsequently slow down before the start line.

Upon the leader's initiation, the race officially commences. However, it is not permissible for drivers to overtake within their respective lanes before crossing the start line, and P2 is prohibited from overtaking P1 prior to the start line. In the event that the race leader fails to accelerate upon receiving the green flag and crosses the start line, the race will commence regardless.

Penalty for P1 making a false (fake) start will be 5 grid position points.
